Mr. James T. DeVito, Jr., joined Wholesale Electric Supply Co. of Houston, Inc. in September 2014 as our Corporate Controller and then became our Director of Accounting in November 2020. He plays a key role in directing the fiscal functions of the corporation in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles issued by the Financial Accounting Standards Board, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and other regulatory and advisory organizations in accordance with financial management techniques and practices appropriate within the industry.
Prior to joining Wholesale Electric, Mr. DeVito, held a Corporate Controller position in the construction industry while at NetVersant, an Associate Director of Corporate Accounting in the hospitality industry, at Joe’s Crab Shack and the Ignite Restaurant Group, and was an Assistant Corporate Controller in the logistics industry at EGL, Inc. Prior to entering private industry, Mr. DeVito was a Senior Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he was exposed to many industries ranging from Not for Profits, such as the American Museum of Natural History, to the pharmaceutical industry at Novartis. Before entering the field of Accounting, Mr. DeVito started his career in Management and Operations in the food industry at ID Oil Products in New York.
Mr. DeVito received his BBS in Finance from Saint John’s University in 1993 and his MBA from Saint John’s University in 2000. He is a Brooklyn New York transplant, who moved down to the State of Texas in 2002.
